Since beginning my school's newspaper in 2015, I have written for a number of publications covering a variety of topics including entertainment, news and lifestyle. Below are examples of my work, as well as information on my career at the various publications I have worked for and with.

As the PR and Content Intern for the HSA, I develop ideas for articles centred on lifestyle, interior design and home staging. I research, write and edit articles weekly to create evergreen Fall/Winter content for the HSA's website to be posted in late 2020 and 2021.

From July to August 2020, I interned for Miss Jones PA, a role in which I co-managed their social media account as well as writing, researching and editing articles centred on career skills for the Miss Jones PA website.

Having been a contributor to Impact Magazine since beginning university in September 2017, I became Deputy Online Editor from June 2018 until May 2019 when I was elected as Head of Online. As Head of Online I am responsible for overseeing the final round of editing for online articles from all sections of the Magazine (copyright checking and ensuring a high standard of journalism in each piece), maintaining the website (altering its appearance, making sure it runs smoothly and caters to our readers' needs), devising and employing strategies to boost reader engagement (such as the introduction of a newsletter, SEO checking) and running our social media pages. I have also contributed pieces across a range of topics including news with my Breaking News articles covering the Nottingham Students for Life scandal being in the most viewed of 2019. I have also written several articles for the print version of Impact which is released 5 times a year.

From September 2017 to June 2018 I was a TV and Film writer for Her Campus at Nottingham while completing my first year of university. I wrote biweekly and monthly articles on topics across the entertainment industry from film reviews, to costumes in TV and film, to the best 'feel good' movies.

    The KILT

During my time in Sixth Form (2015 to 2017) I founded, designed, contributed to and acted as editor-in-chief of the school newspaper The Kilt. My work on the newspaper was recognised by the Jack Petchey Foundation, an organisation that makes grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25 through peer recognition schemes. As editor-in-chief, I edited pieces for publication, designed each issue and the themes/topics it would cover, and wrote my own articles to be included on subjects I thought would be important for students. I also took pictures for several issues. Every issue of The KILT is available at this link. The seven I acted as editor-in-chief for are Issues 1 to 7, and below are a selection of my articles.
    • Issue 3 - 'Mayor Theresa Higgins: 'Get Involved!'' p. 3 - an interview with the mayor of Colchester covering her life, her job as mayor and what she achieved, and advice for students looking to get into politics.
    • Issue 4 - 'The Kilt Book Club: Summer Reading Suggestions' p. 4 - a list (with entries from other students) of students' book suggestions.
    • Issue 7 - 'The Arts After CCHSG' p. 3 - in the final edition I edited I interviewed 4 of the school's alumni who had gone onto work in creative fields in order to showcase career options for more creative students in a school which focused heavily on STEM subjects.

    Other Publications

    • Royist - Before Royist changed the direction of their magazine, I was asked to contribute as a guest author. The link to my guest article centred on luxury travel is below.
    • SPA National Magazine - In August 2019 I wrote a piece for the first issue of the Student Publication Awards' magazine centring on budgeting and managing money as a student.
